"This painting was produced from a trip to Jamaice State Park, in the southern part of Vermont. For me it evokes the quaking leaves of a small beech tree against the white solidity of the cluster of birches. Most landscape artists have found themselves fascinated by the white bark of birches at one time or another. This is my turn at it."
