Night Village "Night Village"
Oil on Panel
11" x 24"

"Like so many of my landscapes, this quiet painting is a composition based on a vague memory. I sketch these out in pencil, usually just a few inches in any dimension. If they strike me the right way, I work them up into paintings that address the inspiration more fully. Along with the sensation of looking down onto a village at night, I like to think of the painting as a tonal study in a very dark key."
