"This painting, like many of my works, was inspired by two days in a row very much like the one depicted. I wanted to address the low sky hanging close over the landscape. The palette is grays. But there are so many colors in gray! In this limited palette there are grays made with greens, yellows, blues and violets. Although difficult to see in this image, I have depicted snow falling - very unusual for me."
