"The sensuousness of winter is something I love to paint. The way the sunlight curves over the soft mounds of snow is something I find very attractive in painting. I suppose this stems from ten years in Alaska and more than twenty in Vermont. I think winter is beautiful, especially when it is very cold and crisp."
