"Seagull's Perch"
Oil on Canvas 16" x 23"

"I got into a conversation with a friend about seagulls because I was so impressed with the size of the black-backed gulls. He talked to me about how they are very territorial and would assume control of a perch that they would hold all season. Hence, the painting. The scene is based on the huge boulders that line the beach at Carters Beach in Nova Scotia with the perpetual fog on the water, shrouding the distant islands."
