Thunder Hole "Thunder Hole"
Watercolor
7" x 9"

"Thunder Hole (in Acadia National Park, Maine) gets its name from the sound the waves make when they reach the back of the undercut hole in the rocks. This painting is from a sketch. My intention was to concentrate on the basic form of the rocks rather than showing the railings, people and paths that lead right down to the water's edge."
