The Observatory, Chichen Itza, Mexico "The Observatory, Chichen Itza, Mexico"
Watercolor
10" x 7"

"Without question, one of the most spectacular ruins on the Yucatan Penninsula is Chichen Itza. Walking around the city is awe inspiring. The Observatory is a fantastic example of Mayan ingenuity and design that is almost unique in Mayan history. Too little time made this the only watercolor I did of Chichen Itza. Tulum is another wonderful Mayan site that I visited, primarily due to its spectacular location. Click here to read my travelogue of the trip. In all, I did 31 paintings and they are included in this story."
