On occasion, the sun filters through a thick curtain of atmosphere and moisture to create an astonishing, flat, magenta disk. Layers of the thick air tint the landscape and flatten the planes of silhouette. The challenges of layering one color over another to create this mood were considerable. Each print in the edition has a unique sky since the clouds and sun are created by wiping the inked block and wet print with a cloth.
