Here are some examples of what my customers have written to me about my prints:
I've loved linocut prints for many years and have a few pieces from a particular Australian artist who was a colleague and a friend many years ago. I've been looking for a piece to send to my daughter to share my love of this art form and the reason I chose yours is because it's beautiful, and it's not just a standard landscape piece. I love art of nature, but this piece has you standing at a distance from the subject and I found it evoked a sense of outsidedness that was very distinctive. As though the scene is both enough in itself, and yet not enough because there is an anticipation of the village yet to be discovered or entered. - Barb (Syria)
Many of the places in your work are familiar to me. I'm a New Englander and I love exploring the woods and villages of western Ma and southern Vt. I saw some of your linocuts at a gallery. The detail is arresting. Once I read about your process that really does mean a limited edition, I am even more appreciative of your artistry and process. I was just looking at "Abundant Earth" on the big screen of the desktop. Love the colors and the sense of being immersed in the forest. - Beth (Massachusetts)
I've admired your work quite some time. I especially like your carving technique and hope to learn more about it. Your use of color is spot on, too. It is vibrant and adds to the overall mood of the print. I also like how you portray the landscape. I live in Iowa presently, and have been working on landscapes that give me a sense of place. But your landscapes a more nuanced using layers of color and texture that I aspire to. I am looking forward to learning more about your work and your techniques. - Randy (Iowa)
Your work offers a natural detailed simplicity, yet draws you in and gives one a sense of wanting more. You can look at your work time and again and never tire of it. Fabulous! - Faith (New Hampshire)
Your use of color blends and gradations amaze me. I think you are one of the best printmakers. I like landscapes, and the transition between day and night is a wonderful time. “Twilight Village” shows that. When the sun sets, you are ready to be warm and inside, but not quite; one more look at light fading over the horizon. Your work is an inspiration to me, I look forward to having it on my wall. - Peter (Colorado)
We have a few of your prints that we purchased from a gallery a few years ago and I was very excited receive "Mountain Melody" today. I've been looking for a nighttime landscape and as soon as I saw Mountain Melody I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. It's so beautiful and arrived so thoughtfully packaged. I love how your artwork captures the natural beauty of Vermont—those eerie, quiet moments where it feels like it’s just you and the mountains. I also love your color palettes. A lot of my wall art has centered around landscapes and mountains and I love the colorful gradients that your artwork has, especially some of your forest works with streams and rivers. I'm looking forward to hanging up "Mountain Melody" with my other prints, and I hope to add a few more soon. - Emma (Vermont)
What really grabs be about your woodcuts is the way they make me feel. Being a native New Englander, so many of your images perfectly evoke that moment of calm beauty so often found in this part of the world. There are color gradients that display in dreamlike realness what a crisp winter sky or warm setting summer sun look like. It’s this combination of the right image with perfectly blended color that only someone who’s witnessed them over many years can capture. I see so many of your images and I’m there. I’ve been there and want to go back over and over. And I’m happy to have another to remind me of the beautiful, bright moon. - Marc (Massachusetts)
I’ve always been impressed by your consummate skills as an artist and printmaker. These particular prints that I just ordered have a mystical quality that I always look for in any picture that finds space in my home. I want to be able to look at something beautiful that engages with me. My favorites are ones that evoke a sense of wonder that I discover anew every time I look at them. - Alison (Vermont)
