My hometown, Brattleboro, Vermont, is on the Connecticut River. The river has many moods and one of the most striking is the thick atmosphere of evening as the sun is setting in summer. The sun is reduced to a colored disk with the spires of the church steeples silhouetted on the horizon. When I first moved here I spent much time in a boat on that river in summers and I loved it. This image is derived from those many hours on the water.
